Ducks close to trading Pronger?

Anaheim - Sources are telling the Orange County Register the Ducks are close to moving all-star defenseman Chris Pronger in a deal that would send him to an Eastern Conference team, believed to be a strong contender for the Cup. General Manager Vipers31 would not go into detail, but admitted the Ducks had "received numerous offers", with some of them including what they considered to be "fair value" for the 6-6 blueliner.
Sources also indicate the Ducks wouldn't necessarily drag this out until the deadline once they feel they have the right offer in front of them. The Ducks play the Dallas Stars this evening. Chris Pronger was not available for the media after the morning skate before the game with the Ducks' divisional rivals.

The Ducks are also close to extending defensemen Kent Huskins and Steve Montador. Huskins, 29, has missed big parts of the season due to injury. He made $625,000 this season and will reportedly sign a two-year deal that will pay him $700,000 per season. Montador, a free-agent signing in last summer, has received an offer that would keep him with the Ducks for three more years and pay him an annual salary of $920,000, a raise from the $800,000 he earned this year.
