Now, other teams like Nashville attract UFAs based on anonmity and lower taxes. Detroit, if they didn't win, would never attract a UFA. That's the situation Montreal is in.
This is pointless, you will have to accept the fact one day Gainey and his strategy has been a failure. Hell even Edmonton, that has it much worse than Montreal, gets free agent signings and is constantly in the race. The media is bad but everything isn't their fault all the time.
