They banned those from junior hockey in around 1979 or 1980... and this was around the time when Bernie Parent had a stick strike him through an eye hole, ending his career... in the early 1980s thus the movement towards the helmet and cage combinations caused the old masks to be infrequent - with the growing popularity of the hybrid masks ending them once and for all...
The last Stanley Cup winning goalie with such a mask I think was Grant Fuhr in 1984 (I think he changed to the hybrid for 1985...) and Pelle Lindbergh was the last to win a Vezina with one in 1985... he wore that until his death in November 1985. After Murray Bannerman and Warren Skoredenski retired, it was up to Sam St Laurent to be the last with such a mask in 1989-90 for the Detroit Red Wings... he was one of those injury callup goalies.
