unfortunately, safer in the Slope means more expensive - a lot more. People are venturing more North (even North of Flatbush) and west these days (although it's always confusing saying North when it's really Northeast). The Slope's nice to visit - if you go on a Saturday or Sunday in the Summer around 4PM. It's gotten too crowded for me, but I live in the suburbs (East Third and Caton) - where we actually have driveways.
