The village is now mostly summer cottages with Jake running the generator supplying power and the store. Truely a wonder place!
The summer camp I went to/worked at for a long time sent several canoeing trips each year into Algonquin. But, by the time I was old enough for the longer trips they had switched to La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve in Quebec. If you haven't been, it's amazing.
