Yes obviously they communicate on draft picks and current NHL's.
But why do people think the Minnesota Wild and Toronto will target the same UFA's just because Burke let Nonis know he liked them. Its a longshot at best and the only issue i can see without reaching to the point of risking a serious shoulder hyperextension is if the Leafs were to target Gaborik. Then Nonis could inform ownership and get him inked ASAP. Even then if Minnesota has its heart set on resigning Gaborik they have months to get it done without fear of interference from anyone at all. If Gaborik has a predetermined notion to hit the open market neither Burke or Nonis have any option but to offer the best deal which is all the other 28 teams can do. Its not like the two teams will be battling eachother for a playoff spot ever which would be the only other credible scenario.
Besides, if Nonis has questionable integrity towards a man who has had a tremendous positive impact on his career its best to part company anyway IMO.
