Yeah, I'm not convinced either, but having a great "team guy" doesn't seem like such a bad idea. I think bringing in a vet who really wants to be no. 1 could create an awkward situation which is likely what you'd get if you brought in Biron, Roloson, etc.
I actually think Halak might still be the best option. The biggest problem I see with him is that as hard as the media and fans are on Carey, they seem to really overrate Jaro. I'd hate to be Carey, hearing constantly about how much better or more consistent Halak is all the time. Ultimately, I'd love to see a Fuhr/Moog deal where they split games during the regular season and then Carey takes over in the playoffs. Problem is, having 2 young goaltenders means you'll have 2 inconsistent goaltenders.
