Nice poll. Pretty close.
I have seen Barker play a lot more than I have seen Edler play, so take this with a grain of salt.
Barker, to me, definitely has the edge physically. When he steps up his physical game and starts to get his hands dirty, it really improves his game. He played really well in the first round against Calgary. I think some of the press/success he was getting went to his head. He has done some really goofy stuff in this Vancouver series, like pinching at bad times and trying to play rover on the PP like Niedermeyer does.
His mistakes are also magnified by playing with Matt Walker who is probably the worst defenseman still playing in the playoffs. I hope to God some other team makes Walker a better offer next year than we do. He is so slow he can't cover for Barker when he does his goofy stuff. Barker needs to play with someone solid defensively so he can be more creative. Any one of Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson would do fine.
(P.S. Hjalmarsson might be better than both of these guys in a few years)
