Boyle, a defenseman with similar value of Kaberle and coming of a similarly bad season, was traded for Carle, Wishart and a 1st. Why would Burke trade Kaberle for Carle and Bourdon (a lesser prospect than Wishart)? Not to mention that Carle's value at the time was higher than it is now. Holy **** man, Carle and Bourdon for Kaberle?
boyles value to san jose is comparable to kaberles value to toronto not his value to philly. they paid the price to upgrade thier top pairing which we wouldnt be doing.

no we arent trading two firsts we are trading our second pairing puckmover for a better secondpairing puck mover. you simply dont devote serious assets to improving a position that isnt an area of need.
