It's not out of the question, it's just that I doubt it. His twenty seven kids were born in Phoenix. Buffalo is just a little bit of contrast to Phoenix.

We are talking about a guy who re-signed here, long-term, several years back, when he could've walked. The team was just as crappy then, and didn't have even a glimpse of the future hope we have now with the quality youth in the system. It was a team dead it the water. He even took a sweetheart deal for the privelege of playing for a garbage organization in a totally hockey indifferent town. It wasn't a hockey decision(he had to know he wasn't even going to get a sniff of playoff success during the length of his deal) and it wasn't a business decision(he could've made much, much, much more on the open market). When it came down to it, it was a family decision. He's said as much(in so many words).

Oh, and if Roy and Sekera were on the table, I just don't know if I can see how Phoenix could really say no. There is no way they'd find a better return. They might get more in terms of picks and prospects, but as far as young veterens, that will fit with the core of the team, and help them start winning, right now, I can't imagine there being a better offer coming from any other team.
