Andrei Mukhachev suspended

From the Tennessean.......seems we have another Russian who refused to report:

"It may not mean much, but the Predators have suspended defenseman Andrei Mukhachev because he failed to honor his contract and report to Milwaukee's training camp.

Mukhachev, a seventh-round draft pick in 2003, had agreed to a two-year deal with Nashville that was scheduled to start this season. But after the Predators worked to get him immigration papers, a work visa and a flight to North America, Mukhachev changed his mind and decided to stay in his native Russia.

The Predators are hoping their suspension will be enforced overseas, but since the NHL doesn't have an agreement with the International Ice Hockey Federation, that's unlikely to happen.

Mukhachev was expected to contend for a roster spot with the Predators.

''He's certainly gone down on our list,'' Poile said. ''He committed to a contract and changed his mind, so that doesn't bode well for his future interests.''
