One player became a thirteen-time all-star yesterday:
- Lidstrom earned nine spots on the first team (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008), one spot on the second team (2009) and three spots on the third team (1996, 1997, 2004).

Five players became four-time all-stars yesterday:
- Chara now has two first (2004, 2009) and two second (2006, 2008) selections.
- Ovechkin is now the first player since Bill Durnan (1944-47) to earn a first-team all-star spot in each of his first four seasons.
- Kovalchuk has been racking up the 3rd team awards. He was a first-team all-star in 2002, and a third-team all-star in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
- Marian Hossa finally has an "official" all-star spot (second team in 2009, after placing on the third team in 2003, 2004 and 2007).
- Iginla has four all-star spots (first in 2002, 2008 2009, second in 2004).

Two players became three-time all-stars yesterday:
- Crosby now has three all-star spots in three healthy seasons (first team in 2007 and third team in 2006 and 2009).
- St. Louis now has a trifecta of all-star spots (first team in 2004, second team in 2007, third team in 2009).
- Luongo has three all-star spots (second team in 2004 and 2007, third team in 2009).
Is it me? or has right wing taken a turn for the worst lately? LW seems to be far more populated with superstar caliber player, while RW is starting to look like LW in the 80's.
