Do any of you locals or near-locals to the area have any ideas or must-dos?
There is no casino in Toronto proper, so you might go to the one in Niagara Falls and kill two birds.

If you're driving, you can stop on the way there or back at Niagara-on-the-Lake and find a vineyard for a tour/tasting if you're into that.

If you are a fan of rock, you might want to find out what's playing at The Horseshoe Tavern, a classic.

City of Toronto outside workers are now on a strike, so you won't be able to take the ferry across to Centre Island - which is a great place - esp. when it's hot. There is also no garbage collection.

There are a lot of great neighbourhoods - you could go the Danforth (on the Bloor-Danforth Subway line running e-w) and get off at Broadview stop and just walk east for a couple miles in Greektown. Lots of great patios for people watching and having a couple brews.

I wasn't kidding about Pride. Church St. from Carlton to Bloor is already filled with tens of thousands of tourists in for the Pride Parade on Sun June 28.

Queen St West from City Hall is a great strip, which includes the Horseshoe at Spadina and lots of cool shops. Once you've reached Spadina, go north and you're in Chinatown.

For dinner, you can't go wrong at KitKat on King near John (relatively close to the Rogers Centre). Of course Gretzky's is right there and is a must see for hockey fans. You can also hit up one of the huge bars on the Esplanade at night.

I would recommend picking up Now Magazine or Eye Weekly and checking out what's happening in town. http://www.nowtoronto.com/ or http://www.eyeweekly.com/.

I'm in Hamilton now, so I won't be around to offer tour guide services, sorry. Have fun!
