From Tim's updated column:

Dave Labrecque, chosen at 153, is a 6-0, 170-pound center from Vanier, Quebec, who also played in the QMJHL at Shawinigan, where he posted 61 points (13 goals) in 59 games.

“I didn’t talk to them before the draft,” Labrecque said. “When I heard my name, I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s me,’ I was pretty happy to hear my name. We had a pretty good season, we finished second in the league and it was my first complete season in the Q.”

Labrecque played against Claude Giroux in junior.

“I played against him last year and I thought he was a pretty good player,” he said. “I never seen one like him before. I know I have to work pretty hard to get better.”
