It's not necessarily a big mistake for Montreal, but I think it's more return than most people would have thought possible for Gomez (well, most people thought no one had interest in Gomez, considering his salary)
Yeah, exactly. If Gomez can put up a 70 point pace over the next five years there's nothing terribly wrong with this deal. If he has a rough year, scores 55-60 points, and gets booed mercilessly by the Bell Centre faithful, this deal is an unmitigated disaster.
