Shots on Goal

During the last few years, we were outshot most of the time. It's not really complicated to see that without more shots than your opponents, the odds of winning aren't on your side. Of course more shots don't necessarily mean more goals, but you need guys who will create opportunities and keep opponents off guard and in motion. Shooting percentage is also important, in which both Gomez and Gionta have suffered in last couple seasons, but the only way to rebound is to keep shooting. More missed shots also mean you might lose possession more often but hopefully our speed, new system, willingness to go in corners and more rebound chances will help.

For example, last year:

Top amount of shots taken

1 Alex Ovechkin 528
... ( Our new first line)
16 Scott Gomez 271
25 Michael Cammalleri 255
31 Brian Gionta 248
... (Top amount of shots from our players last year)
68 Alexei Kovalev 209
72 Tomas Plekanec 202
128 Andrei Kostitsyn 169
