Checkers Agree To Terms
With Former NHL Player Dawe

October 21, 2004

CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Charlotte Checkers have announced that veteran right wing Jason Dawe has agreed to terms.

Selected in the second round (35th overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, the 5-10 and 189-pound Dawe has played parts of eight seasons in the NHL with Buffalo, Montreal, the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders, scoring 176 points (86g-90a) in 366 regular season NHL games and seven points (4g-3a) in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

In 2003-04, the 31-year-old Dawe played in the American Hockey League with Rochester, scoring 29 points (9g-20a) 41 regular season games, and in Finland with Karpat, registering one assist in 15 games.
Probably have to release a vet to a make room, though.
