Because there is something called not only looking at the game right in front of your face, but also 10 years down the line. Vasquez has one of the best stuff in baseball. At the time of the trade, he was thought of being one of the very best young pitchers in all of baseball.

"So don't give me that hindsight stuff, I have the same stance now as I did then."

Good for you. THen the comment applies to the great majority of baseball fans and no less than half of the so-called baseball experts and writers.
