The Blues also won't be able to get too much for him IMO... as mentioned there is a chance he hits UFA status before they could even do anything... even with a short season (and assuming the new CBA lowers age for UFA status), he's still a rental player basically - and one that will have a say in where he goes, since a team isn't going to give up much for him if he doesn't want to re-sign there.
NJ seems like a good option for him too... in his interview, he talked about wanting to win now, and money being secondary, whether that's accurate or not, NJ is still a good spot for him to go to... and they would have the salary room with Stevens gone, and Niedermayer not gaurenteed to come back.
Could someone summarise what he said on TSN.
