We have the cap space for this year, but not in future years. If he works out, we can find a way to keep him. If not, he's gone in a year when the cap goes down.
That said I don't think Dean cares for Zherdev one bit. He's been trying to acquire character players with playoff success, which doesn't fit Zherdev at all. I believe Dean is trying to create a culture of winning right now and doesn't think Zherdev adds to that direction.
agree with a 1-yr deal scenario and also agree that DL most likely doesn't like him... Having too many scorers would be a good problem to have for a change.
and OT, your screen name depreses me - a lot!... I really don't want to wait that long! What was your 2nd choice?
