It's a tricky debate because both sides have a valid argument.
well take the kings as an example. if they did sign a roloson or a khabibulin, would that have helped them win the cup any faster? it might have made them a slightly better team immediately, but does it get them to the stanley cup any faster?

every team wants to get to the stanley cup as fast as possible. but that doesn't mean every team is trying to trade their good prospects for current nhlers.
