Seriously though, if Babchuk would accept the same deal as Gilroy, I'd do Rissmiller and a 3rd. After Zherdev I don't think there is a trade market for Babchuk. Carolina gets a pick for him and NY gets to use him while costing them little because his contract could be offset by unloading Rissmiller. I doubt Carolina is looking to burn a million a year in the minors for the next 2 years though. But if a 3rd round pick is worth spending 2 million, then they could do it. |
Interesting, but I doubt Rutherford would be willing to sink 2 cents into anyone even affiliated with Babs right now. He'd rather Babs rot in Russia at no cost to him at all.
Man, what I wouldnt give to know what really happened between those 2.
