Beauchemin's best NHL season was 4 years ago when he recorded 8 goals and 34 points both career highs in 2005-06 coming out of the lockout.

In the past 3 season he has had point totals of 28 points in 71 games (2006-07), 21 points in 82 games (2007-08) and played only 20 games last season after a serious knee injury and recoded 5 points in those game ~= 20-21 points on a full season at that pace.

That makes his last 3 seasons average approximately 23 points and for comparison purposes Finger registered 6-17-23 points last year with the Leafs.

So for similar stats both players are getting similar pay and term as Beauchemin is age 29 with 3 years X $3.8 mil and Finger is 29 with 3 years X $3.5 mil.
good call on that one. i just did a quick scan to see what sort of point production we could expect(must have been wishful thinking haha)

this season we will most likely see beauchemin take the point on the PP so that could generate more points for him. then again, you could say the same for Finger if given that opportunity. who would you say has the better offensive upside mess?
