Simple Steps to Prevent Theft

I've been playing rec hockey for many years - and have been lucky enough to only been robbed once. Once our team started to do this, we never got robbed again:

Get a team "wallet bag".

This is a small bag where players can deposit their wallets, cell phones/ipods and car keys. This bag comes to the bench. It should preferably have a zipper so that it doesn't spill. We also keep a spare key to the dressing room padlock in here.

Attach the key to the padlock for the dressing room with a carabiner or something. (yes we lock both the dressing room door AND take a wallet bag to the bench).

Don't rely on the padlock on the dressing room door - the wallet bag has saved all our wallets at least 3 times in the last 5 years. (the padlock was forced, or the joining door between 2 rooms was forced).

Even with drop-in hockey, still works wonders.
