It's always a possibility, but I think Dubinsky is still expected to center Gaborik.
As per Brooks in the same article he breaks the signing:

Brooks has been pushing Richards hard all offseason... if there was still fire there (that he was aware of) I'd think he'd have seized the opportunity to push for Richards yet again.
