Without even checking, I'm sure he led the league in goals for because he led the league in minutes played by a wide margin. A valuable goalie tends to get lots of minutes, you know?
But please, go ahead and use statistics 8 years after the fact to argue against the opinions of those who, you know, actually watched the games.
2001 was obviously Sakic first, then Lemieux and Jagr, then everyone else.
Why couldnt hasek be the runner up to sakic? He recorded 11 shutouts, played 67 games and had a 92.1 save%. Hasek was far more valuable to the sabres than Jagr or Lemieux were to Pittsburgh. Mario didnt get much hart support in 1990 or 1992, yet hes the runner up in 2001 despite missing 3 months, nice logic in voting. In 1992 he played more games and won the scoring title, yet recieves fewer votes.
