Thanks, LL. After last night I was thinking of doing the same thing.
Sabourin - probably starting in Providence.
Bonuses - Count until they are mathematically unattainable. For example, if Recchi has a bonus that he'll play in 82 games and can't play in Game 1, the amount of that bonus comes off his cap hit. However, if he has a bonus that he'll score 500 goals this year, it doesn't matter if he has 2 as of Game 81, the bonus still counts since it's still possible.
Right now, the B's have 5.3M (give or take) in bonuses, which makes approximately 1.1-1.2M in bonuses counting on the cap.
Now, the bonus cushion is not like the LTIR exemption. If they're using it at the end of the season, the amount they're using on the bonus cushion counts towards next year's cap hit. So they have to clear as much cap space by the end of the year as the bonuses they expect to be met.
