NO, Nash and Ovechkin aren't equal but they are both franchise players. The way I saw it you could take Nash and trade away Vanek with the 1st rounder and possibly get a higher draft pick (unless the 1st round pick is a top 5 pick) You could also trade Vanek for a 1st rounder as well. That's a great way to make the trade work. Nash and 2 top 10 1st round picks would be a great upside to trading away Ovechkin and Kesler. In the ideal world getting a guy like Malkin or Getz would be great but why not get a couple great young prospects and a franchise player for another franchise player? That is a good thing, right?
