My personal line-up:
Max Pacioretty-Scott Gomez-Brian Gionta
Mike Cammalleri-Tomas Plekanec-Andrei Kostitsyn
Travis Moen-Maxim Lapierre-Guillaume Latendresse
Gregory Stewart-Glen Metropolit-Georges Laraque.
extra - Chipchura, D'Agostini
I am intrigued by the idea of playing Pacioretty with Gomez and Gionta. I think the idea has serious potential and i'd give them a shot to start the year if Patches has a good camp.
The second line is pretty obvious.
Third line is an interesting combo. Not sure which one of Moen/Lats is better suited to play their off wing, but this combination could make for a pretty good 3rd line. Good size and skill.
My preference is for grit on the 4th line, so i'd give the edge to Stewart over say Dags or SK in that type of role.
Chipchura and D'Agostini are the extra forwards put i would swap them in fairly regularly on the 4th line depending on the opponent, injuries, etc.
Sergei K. is a victim of his waiver status and heads to Hamilton.
Andrei Markov-Paul Mara
Roman Hamrlik-Jaroslav Spacek
Hal Gill-Josh Gorges
extra - Ryan O'Byrne
Exactly what Martin has put together. Mara's size and skating ability should compliment Markov.
Hamrlik and Spacek will hopefully have good chemistry together. The big question here is which one of the two is better suited to play the right side.
Gill/Gorges is the 3rd pairing. Pretty solid 3rd pairing that wont provide much in the way of entertainment value but should help keep the puck out of our net.
O'Byrne is the #7, but is vulnerable. Hopefully he has a good camp because i think he has the tools, but could easily find himself traded out of town if Subban continues to shine.
