I just recently went from senior 85 flexes to a senior 70. The thing is I used to play with full lenth 85s, but I started cutting them down to right height and it was killing the flex (and my arms and wrists). Cutting down an intermediate 70 a few inches gives me what I feel is the perfect flex as a rec player. It's not noodley, but loads very easily. By the way I'm also at 5'8 too. Only problem now is I have a bunch of 85f that I don't think I'll ever use.

Also, the shaft I'm using is a easton synergy II tapered shaft, in case anyone is interested.
