Youngest player to captain a Stanley Cup winning team.

Hart trophy: 2006-07 (received 91 out of 97 first place votes that went to skaters)

58 points in 2008 and 2009 playoffs - tied with teammate Malkin for most points in consecutive playoffs since Sakic in 1996 and 1997.

Total Points, 2005-06 to 2008-09
1Sidney Crosby339460
2Joe Thornton368456
3Alex Ovechkin345450

His 61 power play points in 2006-07 is the highest total since Mario Lemieux in 1995-96. Only Lemieux, Pat Lafontaine, Denis Savard, Adam Oates, Paul Coffey, and Al MacInnis have scored more power play points in a single season. Every one of their seasons came in a year with a higher scoring level than 2006-07.

[Wayne Gretzky's former coach] "Crosby's very similar to Wayne. Same kind of vision. Crosby sees the ice as well as anybody. And I've seen him do amazing things, like Wayne. He went through us and scored a goal that was one of the best I've ever seen. He's feisty, and that's what I like about him too. Wayne was feisty in his way but not like this guy."
