If the season starts that is. It may be next year, or the year after. Who knows. But if it is the later, how effective will Recchi, or Malakhov be? They are close to being at their careers end. Go young, like Tampa
Well, regardless of when the NHL comes back, Recchi is already gone and Malakhov (and his salary) wouldn't be missed too much. He played well down the stretch and in the playoffs, but he played over his head in those instances, is unproven over a full season and is noted as a bit of a head case.
I agree that they need to fill the empty spots with youth, but guys like Carter, Richards, Ruzicka, etc. will definitely get at least a cup of coffee in the AHL to get used to the speed of the professional leagues. I like the addition of Knuble. Not really a fan of Stevenson, but he'll play hard every shift on a bottom-line checking unit.
