I disagree with this. Stoll is a shooting center and while it's usual to have the center being the playmaker, a shooting center can work. I hesitate to make the comparison, but the quickest thing that comes to mind is Kane and Toews. Kane is a playmaking winger and Toews is a shooting center, much like Purcell and Stoll. The line CAN work, I think, they just have to get used to each other, which they couldn't do in training camp since Stoll was hurt.
As for Williams, I think that while he is the most unnoticeable part of the 1st line, he has been doing a lot of good things. We notice Kopi because of all the things he does and Smyth for driving the net, but Williams has been doing a lot of little things making space for them both.
And for Frolov, resign or bust. He is a force every game whether he is scoring goals, driving the net, setting up plays, or just keeping puck possession away from the other team's top line.
