At that time they replaced the HD receivers free if they malfunctioned. We went thru 6 HD receivers in 8 months. I unfortunately spent so much time on the phone with Direct that I knew more than 90% of their tech support. (not hard to do, imo)
They were lemons and consistently went bad.

Luckily I finally got one that lasted for 1 1/2 years.

Unfortunately now, it is having a lot of problems. I got the same answer.....Let us send out a service technician..

Direct TV has horrid rude customer service.

Oh, my old Tivo I kept. It is in the basement hooked up to a tv. It is 10 years old and still going strong.
Since this is taking on a life of it's on, (not like that game was worth talking about) both Dish and direct have customer service equal to the Preds performance last night. I've installed for both (freelance) and they are both worse to people that are not their technicians. We were doing it for free at times to help friends, and they wanted to hound us because we were not licensed by them. It's not that hard at all to set up a dish or system BTW.
