Mason good one year, Mason crap the next year and Ellis good. Ellis crap (sophomore slump) and Rinne good. Now Rinne crap (heard sophomore slump again) and Ellis good. Now it's squeezed down even more. Tonight 2 periods good and 3 mins crap and out you go.
Most of the times a goalie gets yanked it's done to send a message to the rest of the team to pull thier heads out of their collective *****. But it becomes like crying wolf if you do it too much. The rest of the team is so used to it that it holds no weight anymore and you wreck whatever positives that your goalie did have going. The Preds just seem to have the same end result every year even though the faces have changed. Pretty soon you have to look at the common denominator of your team and see if that is the issue.
Just my observation from afar.
Sorry, but you're argument holds no water tonight. Ellis deserved to be pulled when he was. 3 shots, 3 goals. First one was through a screen and he had no chance, but the last two he got caught anticipating and was unable to make the save because he guessed on the shot location before it was released and got committed leaning the wrong way after a deflection on the second goal and Nolan kicking the puck to his stick about two feet away on the second.
