All what I'm gonna say is this. I was born and saw the Flyers win their last Stanley Cup. Every year, I take a trip to Philadelphia to see a game. I have a satellite dish that picks up Comcast in Philadelphia and have never missed a game in five years. I can honestly say that from the championship teams to the teams of today, there is something missing. A passion, a fire, a hunger. I could care less about Esche taking the starting job from Hackett because it was always Esche's to lose. I could care less about Sharp and Radivojevic, not because they aren't good players, but because the players who were exepected to lead (Zhamnov, Roenick, Amonte, Gagne, etc....) did nothing when playoff time rolled around. And don't use the concussion excuse because Primeau had one and he turned things up and became all world during the playoffs. The way Primeau played, that's the way that the Stanley Cup champion Flyers played. There was a sense of urgency, a fury, a passion to their game. And I won't forget the contributions of Kapanen because outside of Primeau and Esche, he was probably the most important player after the two of them. That's what I want to see from the Flyers. We don't need the thuggery, but I'd like to see a more sense of urgency and a greater intensity in the way they play. It's time that kids like Radivojevic and Sharp have the opportunity to play on the top lines to see what they can do. That's what I want to see. Those who bring it, get to play.
