I think you have an error in Phil Myre's 1978 stats. 2481 shots against is an enormous outlier. The Hockey Summary Project has 1630 shots against for that season.
Yes, you're right, that was an error. 1631 is what I have by summing up his totals from both teams (which is where the error likely came from) - The 47 shots per game should have tipped me off.

He goes down almost to the bottom of the list.

Wow, he could have faced 800 more shots without allowing a goal and still wouldn't have had the league's best sv%!
