I have to suspect that Ottawa's brass is making inquiries regarding the health of Adam Deadmarsh and Jason Allison. I think it is certainly worth the risk for Ottawa to sign either (or, hell, both ) to an incentive-laden deal as either player would fit perfectly into the roles Ottawa is lacking. Even if neither is as good as they once were, they can still play productive roles. (PP specialist for Allison? )

Just imagine (if healthy, of course):

Deadmarsh - Allison - Hossa
Smolinski - Spezza - Havlat
Varada - White - Alfredsson
Vermette - Fisher - Neil
Schaeffer - Langfield

Now this is obviously isn't going to happen but, damn, that would be a sweet lineup.
