I think a very good second line winger like Parrish would be a pretty stiff price to pay for Simon. I agree, however, that Simon would be very nice to have.

I personally wouldn't trade Parrish, Scatch, or any of our young prospects. And, if that makes it hard to get any real deals done (and it might), I'd stand pat.
Actually, it's kind of a shame that they no longer have Gauthier. Parrish + a pick for Gauthier and Simon could be a solid deal. Maybe the deal could be something like Parrish + pick for Simon + Commodore/Loyns/Montador or one of the younger depth D-men. Or even Parrish + (something of value) for Simon + Lydman.

I know you don't want to trade Parrish, but these days, I'm more concerned with our future defensive depth (where will Hamrlik and Aucoin be in a year??) and our lack of grit and LW's in the top 6. We may not have any wingers that are a good bet for 30 goals, but we do have two right wingers who are good bets for 25. They can't all play in the top six without switching Blake to LW, which I still feel he is less effective at. It also leaves Weinhandl down on the third line, who I think deserves a shot on the second line.
