where the club asked for $2 million, Brion $3 million, and he was awarded $2.8 is pretty dramatic...under the proposed CBA, his award would be $2.1 million.

While I do agree with 007 that the tax numbers will have to be increased, and I do agree with xander that the threshold will have to be decreased, the proposal should provide a framwork from which to negotiate. And as 007 says, we'll see what the NHL's motives are next week.
