It was so bad that our coach MADE those kids bring backup skates to practices and games. I mean for all the difference a few grams makes, I'd rather have it more durable than breaking.

The only thing that changed from the Lightspeeds to the Lightspeed 2 is how they are mounted. The riveting is slightly different. There is no real dramatic change to improve durability.
