When Desharnais got called up to Hamilton in his first year, I wasn't impressed at all, he looked overmatched and couldn't really generate anything offensively. He had a great year in the ECHL but I had my doubts that he would be able to be effective in the AHL.

Last year I was suprised at how good he was, easily one of the best and most consistent players on the team. He made big strides from the handful of games he played the year before. This year when he came back from injury, he didn't miss a beat, and helped get Glumac going.

I have no clue what his future is in the NHL, I know he is turning into a great AHLer that's fun to watch, works hard and doesn't shy from heavy traffice areas. I'd like to see him get faster if possible, people being up St.Louis or Gionta, but those guys can fly out there, whereas Desharnais can't. But I underrated him in his first year, so now I will just wait and see what happens.
