I'd rather have a system that puts more emphasis on individual accountability and puck possession. I can't remember seeing a team win a cup in the past 10 years playing in their zone how we do.
I'd rather be aggressive in the defensive zone as opposed to just the offensive. Just like effective PKs are often aggressive and force the action, I'd rather press the pace on defense. If the other team is going to make an insane pass or incredible deke and get an open shot on goal fine. But don't give him 15 seconds in the zone to set up. Make him shoot/pass/deke before hes ready, before his teammates are set up.
I'm tired of this defense. I know why we use it. But clearly it isn't working for this group. Our offense just hides its when we do well. When we lose, you start wondering again why this team can't win a game 1-0 consistently.
