It just comes off as desperate and near-sighted to me.
Doesn't really matter, this team isn't making the playoffs anyway with the way they are currently constructed. Gaborik, Prospal, etc. are healthy now and they struggle to win games. All of a sudden they are going to win these games at the end of year because they are well rested?

They'll still lose games regardless of ice time allocation. No one outside of Gaborik can score consistently and that's not enough.
