Brooks forgot or willfully ignored the fact that Bettman needs only about 35% of the owners to keep this going. If Goodenow's support falls below 60%, he's finished. Brooks also didn't mention that while team values will drop with a lockout, they have every chance of becoming becoming worth MORE under a CBA which guarantees owners a fixed percentage of the revenue pie.

But it should certainly surprise none of us that Brooks left these facts out of his ... ahem ... "analysis."

This will go until one or the other surrenders. Whoever gives in first will do so in order to save his job by getting money to start rolling back in to his constituents. Ironically the man who does does surrender will seal the fate he was trying to avoid because he failed to deliver on a vowed position, and he demanded huge sacrifice in his failure to deliver.

Whoever goes will have deserved what's coming to him.
