A solid core of home grown roleplayers is what we have been missing the past few years. Back to the days of Gretzky, then up through Fleury, Lindros, Holik, Jagr and Rucinsky, we have not had poblems getting top line players to come to the Rangers. But when they get here they have to do it themselves, because we didnt have that supporting cast of forwards to grind in the corners, defensemen to clear the crease, or just heart and soul guys who want to be Rangers for reasons other than the paycheck. I like to see that they are building up surplus of these types of guys, rather than gambling on some potential stars. Granted we have no idea what the CBA will be like, but with cablevision money, that first liner to put us over the top is never that far away.
