I agree; I don't understand these types of deals either. I tell ya, there are WAYYYY more bragging rights to winning a pool this year as opposed to once, a long time ago, owning the players that the OTHER guy used to win the pool this year because that you traded him away for unproven talent. Its like finding $10,000 cash on the street and blowing it all on lottery tickets.

In terms of Hossa for strictly prospects and picks, the guy getting Hossa wins the deal because he is getting a proven 24 year old player that is right now the best in the deal. Plus Hossa is going to be around for 14 years. He is the type of player you want to trade FOR, not away.
