Finally got to see a game with my own eyes. Kidnapped a HFer by the name of Viqsi and we caught the game from the nose bleeds. No real rythem to the game itself. In the first period Nashville spent about 10 minutes in the blue ice grinding and pushing to get a goal and Anaheim with an odd rush to try and score on Rinne. The first goal was all on Rinne. He couldn't secure a rebound with his glove and Anaheim chipped in the rebound. Rinne cost himself a shutout. Nashville outworked Anaheim and won about 95% of the battles on the boards. No one seemed to have any energy at the game. The players on both sides seemed to be going at about 80% and the crowd finally came into play after the first Nashville goal. Towards the 3rd Nashville began to cycle and started blasting one timers into Hiller. Most of the shots in the first 2 periods were snap shots which lead to Nashville crashing the boards and trying to push in the rebound. In the 3rd you could see Weber trying his damnest to blast a 6th hole through the goalie's chest.
Defensively, the Weber-Suter line was phenominal. Suter is the best defensemen on the team. Hamhuis just looks a bit lost out there. Other than Rinne's glove Suter was the most impressive thing I saw at the game.
And as for Weber, does he have an upper body injury? Not much snap in his slap shot.
It was a win and
