As for size, I'd assume they'd be to the same specs as his current ones. Goalies are generally pretty particular about their pads. It's not too uncommon for a goalie to break in a new set of pads during practice before he actually uses them in a real game. If Lundqvist waited to use these pads until a few days before the Olympics, there's no way they would be broken in before the first game.

Nothing about the league telling him to change the pads; if there was ever a time where they would've said it, it would be against another team wearing red.
