Many talk about...

competition as a key component of a salary cap CBA, and cite the NFL...well, I gotta tell you, this last weekend was the most matter-of-fact, boring weekend in a long time. There were a couple spots left (sans IND, NE and PHI who did their best hockey, PHI, COL, DET imitation (remember, there are 16 teams that make the NHL's playoffs compared to the NFL's 12). I actually got upset at my gifrlfriend for leaving the bar late in the Jets' game, listened on the radios, prior to learning that they were already in. Further, it was very unexciting to watch IND and ATL play meaningless games. In the last week of an NHL season, there are far fewer meaningless games (recognizing the 82 to 16 game ratio, but not forgetting any team's ability to make the playoffs and make a name for itself).
